Apple je na cílové rovince se stavbou svého nového sídla, které svým vzhledem připomíná kosmickou loď. Právě dnes společnost se sídlem v Cupertinu oznámila název 175 akrů velkého areálu. Pojmenovala jej Apple Park.

Toto sídlo bude hostit 12.000 lidí a bude obsahovat místa na práci, návštěvnické centrum s obchodem produktů společnosti Apple, veřejnou kavárnu, rozsáhlé fitness centrum pro zaměstnance, R & D oddělení a hlediště s 1000 sedadly pojmenované Steve Jobs Theater. Odhaduje se, že stěhování do nového kampusu bude trvat 6 měsíců.

Areál o rozloze 464 515 metrů čtverečních asfaltu a betonu je nahrazen travnatými plochami a 9000 nativními stromy odolných vůči suchu. Celé sídlo je poháněno energií ze 100% obnovitelných zdrojů: 17 megawattovými střešními solárními panely. Díky tomu patří mezi jedno z největších solárních energetických zařízení na světě.

Apple Park je nynní největší budova na světě, která je přirozeně ventilovaná a předpokládá se, že nebude vyžadovat žádné topení ani klimatizaci po devět měsíců v roce. To zní velmi působivě na budovu, jejíž sídlo se nachází ve vždy slunné Kalifornii.
